Hybrid 2 days/week on site Collegeville, PA Position Description This role supports and enhances IBM i (AS/400) applications, with a focus on supporting, maintaining, and modernizing existing RPG and CL code. The position owns day‑to‑day production support for multiple mission‑critical systems and partners closely with business and technical teams to deliver reliable solutions. Responsibilities- Provide primary production support and issue resolution for IBM i applications
- Analyze, reverse‑engineer, maintain, and enhance existing RPG and CL programs
- Support the full application lifecycle including development, testing, release, and production support
- Design and develop application code and DB2 for i database objects
- Debug batch and online programs and optimize SQL performance
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and define technical solutions
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and CI/CD practices
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior or offshore developers
- Contribute to standards, tools, and continuous improvement initiatives Required Skills
- Strong IBM i (AS/400) development experience
- Expert knowledge of RPG (RPGLE, Free‑Form
RPG, SQLRPGLE
) and Control Language (CL/CLLE)- Experience with DB2 for i SQL, including complex query optimization
- Experience debugging batch programs and supporting production environments
- Understanding of modern RPG concepts including activation groups and embedded SQL
- Experience with IBM i development tools (Rational tools, X‑Analysis preferred)
- Familiarity with Implementer/MDCMS, Advanced Query Tool, Jira, and Confluence
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Understanding of RESTful web services, XML, and JSON
- Strong ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
