The Aftermarket Product Group concentrates on spare parts, service and revamping of existing

equipment as well as competitors' equipment.
The Job:
As the Sales Application Engineer - Aftermarket, you are part of our Aftermarket Service Division. You will be supporting the department in detailing spare parts needs, designing rebuilds/retrofits, and providing field service to industrial type equipment in the carbon and non-ferrous industries primarily in North America. The Sales Application Engineer - Aftermarket will develop and maintain an expert understanding of Andritz equipment, products, customer needs, and advanced sales skills to allow the individual to make thorough and informed recommendations to the customer. Also, the individual will provide support to the department on managing execution of all aftermarket projects. You will be required to prepare quotes, visit, sell, and technically interact with customers concerning all types of Andritz Metals portfolio of equipment. You will be supported by existing aftermarket and engineering personnel for technical support and order processing. This support includes all the Andritz divisions.
Goals and Responsibilities:
- Generate new business opportunities by utilizing consultative selling techniques and skills to engage customers
- Differentiate the ANDRITZ product portfolio by promoting its unique focus on advanced technologies and application engineering.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery conditions, and execution of supplier contracts
- Work with other members of the Sales Team to create, develop, and maintain relationships with key accounts
- Propose the sales forecast and the departmental expenditures required for achieving the annual budget
- Follow market developments, research market trends and maintain knowledge of industry developments throughout the market geography from both a customer and technology basis
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Technical sales engineering experience in the processing of metals. This can include experience aluminum, other non-ferrous metals, iron, steel.
- Thorough understanding of material/metal heat treatment and processing.
- Able to read engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Familiar with mechanical processes, equipment, process drawings, AutoCAD, PLC and process controls
- Goal oriented person who approaches tasks with intensity and aggressively pursues short term goals.
- Good sales communication skills both written and oral. Quickly recognizes the required elements of an elevator speech and can effectively deliver them.
- Able to build strong interpersonal relationships alongside technical sales support.
- Strong data and information organizing skills. Above average Microsoft Office skills and ability to grasp company IT system quickly. Use IT tools to support sales efforts and outside sales representatives.
- Comfortable speaking in front of groups of people in business and industrial settings.
- Individual should be comfortable with identifying issues, troubleshooting problems, critical thinking and working on a multi-disciplined team.
- Experience working with traditional corporate structured divisions such as engineering, maintenance, purchasing, and quality departments.
- Experience with the "complex" sale of industrial engineered products (involvement of multiple customer departments)
- Strong organizational, professional, and project management skills
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time visiting customers and other ANDRITZ facilities.
Qualification:
- 8 to 10 years experience of engineering in an industrial environment
- Prefer BS degree in industrial or mechanical engineering
- Prior industrial equipment or relevant industrial equipment or process experience
- Prior metals industry experience a plus
- Must be fluent in Microsoft Office
- Fluency in SAP preferred
