Position Summary Cedar Gate Technologies, an IQVIA business, is seeking a Senior Application Architect to lead the design, development, and evolution of enterprise application architecture that supports strategic business objectives and future technology needs. This role serves as a key technology leader, partnering with business stakeholders, product teams, and executive leadership to define architecture roadmaps, modernize platforms, and deliver scalable solutions that drive business value. As part of a significant transformation initiative, this position offers the opportunity to influence enterprise technology strategy, guide large-scale modernization efforts, and help shape the future of critical customer-facing and operational platforms. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in strengthening business continuity, improving delivery predictability and quality, enabling innovation, and enhancing the overall client experience. This position supports a strategic enterprise transformation initiative focused on modernizing technology capabilities, enhancing business continuity, improving delivery quality, and driving long-term operational efficiency. The Senior Application Architect will play a critical role in establishing the technology foundation needed to support future growth, innovation, and exceptional client experiences. Roles & Responsibilities Lead the conceptualization, development, implementation, and governance of enterprise application architecture. Define architecture strategies and roadmaps that align technology investments with business objectives. Develop and present business cases, architecture recommendations, and release plans to senior leadership. Partner with business leaders to ensure technology strategies support product and operational goals. Collaborate with product development leadership to align projects with enterprise architecture standards and long-term technology direction. Lead cross-functional teams through solution design, architecture reviews, and implementation planning. Serve as a senior consultant and trusted advisor on complex business and technology initiatives. Research emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve products, platforms, and business outcomes. Sponsor and lead research and development initiatives utilizing established project management practices. Mentor and provide guidance to architects, engineers, and business analysts. Ensure the delivery of scalable, secure, and sustainable technology solutions that support future growth. Job Location Burlington, MA (Boston) or Greenwich, CT Work Arrangement Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 remote). U.S. residents only; all work must be performed within the United States.
Experience / Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience 8 plus years of experience in software development, application development, or product development with significant architecture responsibilities Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale application architectures. Strong expertise in enterprise architecture, business information modeling, systems design, and integration strategies Demonstrated ability to translate business strategy into technology solutions and roadmaps Experience partnering with senior leaders and influencing strategic technology decisions Experience leading cross-functional teams and complex technology initiatives Strong consulting, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills Knowledge of modern software development practices, architectural patterns, tools, and technologies Healthcare technology, digital experience, patient experience, or customer-facing platform experience. IT consulting experience is preferred Project or program management experience is preferred Experience leading large-scale application modernization, migration, or digital transformation initiatives is preferred Experience supporting knowledge transfer, organizational transformation, or global delivery models is preferred Experience working within cloud-based and distributed enterprise environments is preferred To be eligible for this position, you must reside in the same country where the job is located IQVIA is a leading global provider of clinical research services, commercial insights and healthcare intelligence to the life sciences and healthcare industries.
