A Little About Us The Yahoo Media Platform enables core media capabilities across Yahoo verticals, delivering shared products and services so teams can ship use cases faster and more cost-effectively than building them in isolation. The Content Management within Media Platform powers Yahoo's publishing ecosystem by ingesting partner and third-party content at scale, normalizing it to a unified content model, enriching it, and publishing it into storage and search indexes used across properties like News, Finance, and Sports. We also provide platform APIs, change events, and partner-facing diagnostics to deliver end-to-end content freshness, observability, and reliability. A Lot About You We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Software Dev Engineer to join one of our content management engineering squads. This position requires an engineer who possesses a deep understanding of full-stack software engineering principles. You will be responsible for owning projects from start to finish. Your other skills include knowledge about content management systems, communicating well with internal stakeholders, and a strong track record of delivering results. You are adept at partnering with other cross functional leads to deliver on goals. You have a passion for innovative software solutions and are excited about building a new platform. Responsibilities Lead specific projects through the development, implementation, and maintenance of the content ingestion systems for all partner content Oversee the technical design, development, and testing of new software features for the publishing systems Build strong relationships with Product, UX, Program Management, and peer engineering teams; remove ambiguity and deliver measurable outcomes. Mentor squad members and elevate team standards through design reviews, knowledge sharing, and pragmatic, iterative execution. Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience. Proficiency in Python; TypeScript/JavaScript with React and Next.js; and AWS services such as Lambda, SQS/SNS, RDS, and OpenSearch. Strong system design and data modeling fundamentals; experience with distributed systems, APIs (REST/GraphQL), and end-to-end testing (unit, integration, e2e). Experience working on platform/horizontal teams building reusable services and APIs adopted by multiple verticals or product teams. Excellent communication skills; ability to articulate complex concepts and collaborate effectively across teams. Experience with Agile software development methodologies and solid software engineering principles. Nice to Have Experience with FastAPI, Tailwind, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), and observability (CloudWatch/Grafana). Background in content platforms, enrichment/metadata systems, or partner/third-party ingestion pipelines. Exposure to ML/AI features in content workflows (classification, moderation, recommendations). The compensation for this position ranges from $128,250.00 - $266,875.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.

The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
