We are seeking a Software Engineer who can help us tackle increasing software and firmware development tasks, while supporting both sustaining engineering projects and new product development. Responsibilities Troubleshoot software and firmware applications and provide necessary support. Participate in design discussions and take ownership of complex tasks. Conduct code reviews and engage in team discussions. Mentor interns or new hires and contribute to their development. Work on embedded hardware or low-level communication protocols. Handle tasks independently and deliver results efficiently. Essential Skills Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required; a Master's is preferred. At least 5 years of experience in embedded software development. Proficiency in Linux, Yocto, and cybersecurity practices. Experience with application-level software running on custom Linux builds, as well as bare-metal development for sensors and regulators. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in manufacturing or production environments is beneficial but not mandatory. Ability to articulate software development experience clearly. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Marcos, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $41.00 - $48.00/hr.
