Pay Range:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Software Development Engineer to join our dynamic team, working in partnership with Aquent. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in developing and validating the foundational operating systems that bring next-generation compute products to life. Your contributions will directly impact the performance and reliability of advanced hardware, ensuring seamless operation across our expansive global infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity to dive deep into system-level software, contribute to critical projects, and leave a lasting mark on the evolution of computing.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and test operating system-level software, specifically for a Linux-based validation environment. Contribute to the release and validation of next-generation compute products, ensuring their stability and performance. Apply principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to complex software and system challenges. Troubleshoot and resolve intricate system issues, making necessary software changes to optimize functionality. Collaborate with a project team to define scope, coordinate development efforts, and ensure successful project delivery. Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and support. Review project requests to estimate time and cost required for completion.
Must-Have Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a relevant field. 5-7 years of experience in software development. Relevant Linux experience within the last 5 years. Proficiency in the full software development lifecycle, from business/systems analysis through testing and delivery. Ability to troubleshoot issues and implement system changes as needed. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent problem-solving and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Knowledge of computer hardware and software principles. Familiarity with computer development software as it relates to systems.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
Experience as an open-source contributor. Experience contributing to Linux open-source projects or upstreaming.
