Technical Lead

• Mainframe (Cobol/DB2/JCL) Job Summary We are seeking a Technical Lead with strong expertise in Cobol, DB2, and JCL to support critical initiatives within the Cards and Payments domain.

This role will drive technical design, ensure high-quality delivery, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a hybrid work environment. Must Have Skills Cobol DB2 JCL Good to Have Experience in Cards & Payments domain Agile/Scrum methodologies Production support and incident management Roles & Responsibilities Lead design, development, and implementation of solutions using Cobol, DB2, and JCL Translate business requirements into technical specifications Provide technical leadership and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices Manage and optimize DB2 databases for performance and data integrity Perform testing, debugging, and code reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables Monitor and resolve production issues with minimal downtime Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business needs Maintain technical documentation for systems and processes Drive continuous improvement initiatives across systems and team productivity Support project timelines in coordination with project managers Key Qualifications 8-12 years of experience in Cobol, DB2, and JCL Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Experience delivering complex technical projects Knowledge of SDLC and agile methodologies Ability to mentor and guide team members Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Certifications (Preferred) IBM Certified Database Associate•

Programming Certification Salary Range:

$60,000

• $90,000 per year This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
