The Workday Reporting & Analytics Lead will be the university's subject matter expert for Workday reporting. This role is responsible for designing and delivering complex, cross-functional reports and dashboards, managing the governance and lifecycle of institutional reports, and driving the adoption and optimization of the Workday reporting ecosystem, including Prism Analytics. The Workday Reporting & Analytics Lead will collaborate with departmental partners to meet the university's high-volume custom reporting needs with accuracy, security, and scalability. In addition, this position will establish enterprise reporting standards, mentor departmental report writers, and guide the transition of legacy reporting into modern, sustainable Workday solutions.
Job Description:
Lead the design and development of complex reports and dashboards across functional domains. Oversee report lifecycle management, including governance, naming conventions, metadata tagging, documentation, and retirement. Manage validation processes to ensure accuracy and collaborate with security partners on report access and compliance. Serve as the lead analyst for Workday Prism Analytics, including datasets, dashboards, and embedded analytics. Consult with stakeholders to identify reporting needs and deliver scalable, reusable reporting solutions. Train and mentor departmental report writers, promoting best practices in reporting and data stewardship. Support compliance, board, and state reporting through scheduled and ad hoc reporting solutions. Maintain enterprise reporting inventories and ensure alignment with data governance frameworks. Provide front-line support and guidance to distributed Workday report developers across campus.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, or Information Technology or Equivalent combination of education, experience, and training. Workday Report Writer certification Solid knowledge of Workday reporting tools, including Workday Report Writer, Calculated Fields, Advanced/Composite reports, and Matrix reports. Familiarity with Workday data sources and security. Experience with Workday modules (Finance, HCM, Payroll, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
Prism Analytics Certification Financials Reporting Certification. Understanding of relational databases and data models. Understanding BI/Analytics tools.

Lead complex reporting initiatives in Workday from concept to delivery — balancing multiple priorities, tight timelines, and high visibility across Finance, HR, and Payroll. Design and develop advanced Workday reports and data models, leveraging a deep understanding of Workday objects, business processes, and analytics capabilities. Serve as the go-to reporting expert and strategic advisor, helping business partners translate data needs into insightful, actionable reporting solutions. Collaborate across functional and technical teams to ensure reporting accuracy, consistency, and adherence to governance and security standards. Provide mentorship and technical leadership to other report developers, fostering a culture of quality, knowledge-sharing, and continuous improvement.
