Job Description
Seeking an experienced Nuclear Digital I&C Design Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support digital modernization projects at a nuclear generating facility. This senior-level role focuses on developing engineering change packages, supporting digital system upgrades, and improving plant computer systems within a highly regulated environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with nuclear I&C systems, digital engineering, plant computer upgrades, or industrial control systems and be able to independently develop technical solutions and engineering documentation. Responsibilities Develop and author Engineering Change (EC) packages for digital system upgrades Support digital I&C and plant computer system modernization projects Evaluate and upgrade legacy computer systems, including virtualization solutions Develop engineering documentation, design descriptions, and technical evaluations Support integration of digital systems and migration to modern platforms Perform engineering reviews and provide technical recommendations Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project teams Required Qualifications 15+ years of engineering experience in nuclear, power generation, industrial controls, or similar regulated environments Experience developing engineering change packages or design change documentation Experience with digital I&C systems, plant computer systems, or control systems Strong technical writing and engineering documentation skills Ability to work independently as a subject matter expert Preferred Qualifications Nuclear power plant experience Experience with EPRI Digital Engineering Guide (DEG) process Experience supporting digital modernization or plant upgrade projects Knowledge of Modbus, OPC DA/DC, and OPC UA communication protocols Experience with plant computer architectures and tiered system approaches Experience with WINVMS, WINPMS, or similar plant information management systems Experience with virtualization technologies
