As the Senior Solutions Engineer , you will support the development and implementation of operational solutions that connect Solution Design, Implementation, and Operations. You will provide operational expertise throughout the customer lifecycle, from early-stage RFPs through implementation and operational stabilization. You will evaluate facility designs, process flows, staffing requirements, automation strategies, and operational risks while supporting site launches, production readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will also identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce costs, and optimize processes across GXO operations. Pay, benefits and more. What you'll do on a typical day: Partner with the Solutions Engineering team to provide Operations input on productivity rates, facility layouts, automation strategies, staffing requirements, and other solution design elements Provide subject-matter expertise on operational constraints, labor requirements, system capabilities, and automation limitations to help develop practical and executable solutions Review proposed KPIs, SLAs, contractual requirements, solution assumptions, and cost models while identifying and escalating operational risks Participate in Joint Planning Sessions with customers and Implementation teams to validate solution assumptions, estimates, cost models, and operational requirements Support Operations training and User Acceptance Testing while developing volume and headcount ramp plans based on productivity expectations and customer forecasts Develop and execute Production Readiness Test cases, document results, and escalate issues or failed scenarios prior to go-live Partner with Analytics to ensure KPI reporting is established prior to launch and support the transition of performance ownership to site Operations Provide on-site support during implementation and site launches to validate that the physical operation aligns with the approved solution design Conduct Continuous Improvement analysis to identify cost savings, productivity improvements, and process optimization opportunities Develop business cases, lead CI projects, conduct root-cause analysis, time studies, pilots, simulations, and other engineering efforts to improve operational performance Develop work instructions and update standard operating procedures to support consistent and efficient operations Present analysis, recommendations, and project results clearly to leadership and other stakeholders What you need to succeed at
GXO:
At a minimum, you'll need: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent related work or military experience 4+ years of related work experience Ability to travel 50-75% of the time Strong knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing and/or Continuous Improvement Advanced analytical skills with the ability to perform complex analysis of data, processes, systems, and procedures Experience using analytical and process improvement tools, including flow charts, Pareto charts, cause-and-effect diagrams, and run charts Extensive knowledge of warehouse operations and supply chain management or experience working in a warehouse production environment Strong knowledge of Lean Warehousing and warehouse/supply chain processes Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present clear, organized, and thorough information to various audiences It'd be great if you also have: Experience providing end-to-end solutions and owning the development, enhancement, and maintenance of deliverables Experience using AutoCAD to develop facility layouts and detailed work areas Lean or Six Sigma Black Belt certification Exceptional data management and SQL skills We engineer faster, smarter, leaner supply chains.
