Job Description

Role :
Mainframe Developer Location :
Westlake , Texas (Locals only) Local candidates only. (Onsite 5 days every other week) This is a 3-month contract to hire position. Candidates who are authorized to work for any employer in US without requiring visa sponsorship now or in future can apply. A Mainframe Developer with good COBOL and JCL, DB2, and CICS skills who will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining mainframe applications that support critical business processes.
Job Responsibilities Include:
Collaborating with business analysts and project managers to gather requirements and design technical solutions Creating and executing test plans to ensure application functionality and quality Participating in code reviews and providing feedback to other developers to ensure code quality and adherence to standards Troubleshooting and resolving application issues in a timely and efficient manner Keeping up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to suggest process improvements or new solutions.
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of writing, testing, and debugging COBOL programs using established coding standards and best practices 5+ years of developing and maintaining JCL scripts to manage batch processing and job scheduling 5+ years of designing, developing, and maintaining DB2 databases to support application data needs 5+ years of writing and maintaining CICS transaction programs to provide online access to mainframe applications Overall, a mainframe developer with these skills plays a critical role in maintaining and improving the performance and reliability of mainframe applications that are essential to the operations of large organizations.
