Join Our Product Development Team Are you passionate about quilting, sewing, and machine embroidery? Do you enjoy creating beautiful projects while ensuring every pattern is accurate, easy to follow, and ready for customers? My Girlfriend's Quilt Shoppe is looking for an experienced Pattern Tester & Developer to join our growing Product Development Team. This position combines pattern development, technical writing, sewing, quilting, machine embroidery, and product testing into one highly collaborative role. The ideal candidate is both creative and analytical—someone who enjoys transforming ideas into polished products while identifying opportunities to improve clarity, accuracy, and the customer experience. If you love quilting, machine embroidery, and helping create products that inspire makers around the world, we'd love to hear from you. What You'll Do Pattern Development Reverse-engineer original designs into complete quilting, and sewing patterns. Develop accurate cutting instructions, fabric requirements, assembly steps, and construction details. Create prototypes from original concepts and artwork. Assist in developing products from concept through final publication. Pattern Testing Test quilting, sewing, and machine embroidery patterns for: Accuracy Clarity Ease of use Completeness Customer experience
Verify:
Measurements Cutting diagrams Fabric calculations Yardage requirements Block sizing Seam allowances Complete projects exactly as written to ensure instructions are accurate and repeatable. Identify inconsistencies, errors, missing steps, or opportunities for improvement. Test embroidery designs for stitch quality and usability. Machine embroidery placement and sequencing Verify hoop placement, appliqué alignment, stitch sequencing, color changes, and design accuracy. Evaluate designs across multiple hoop sizes when applicable. Test embroidery files on compatible embroidery machines. Document stitch-out results and recommend improvements. Technical Writing Write clear, concise, step-by-step instructions. Translate complex sewing and embroidery techniques into beginner-friendly language. Create diagrams, illustrations, measurements, and instructional content. Product Quality & Collaboration Collaborate with Graphic Designers, Technical Writers, and Product Managers. Participate in product reviews and quality control meetings. Ensure every pattern meets My Girlfriend's Quilt Shoppe quality standards. Stay current on quilting, sewing, embroidery, and industry trends.
