Job Requirements Fairfax, VA Top Secret Polygraph Unspecified Career Level not specified $130,000 - $150,000 Job Description Senior C++ Software Engineer - Biomedical Big Data Rockville, MD / Onsite Blu Omega is seeking a Senior C++ Software Engineer to support our client's biomedical big data initiatives. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and advancing solutions that facilitate biological data analysis and storage within a federal research environment. Program Overview Support the development of tools and infrastructure for managing large-scale biomedical sequencing data.

Public Trust eligibility required Responsibilities Develop, implement, test, and maintain the VDB Library, the SRA Toolkit, and related projects. Contribute to the development of cloud-ready tools and pipelines to support scalable and reliable data access and processing. Learn new technologies, manage internal systems, and share knowledge with team members. Lead other developers in project tasks. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience with object-oriented programming using C++. Programming experience in Linux environments.Experience with cloud technologies:
AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda), GCP (GKE, Cloud functions). Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Perl, or Python. Ability to work with JSON and similar structured document formats. Experience with network programming and multi-threading. Knowledge of SQL and relational databases. Familiarity with open source projects and Agile methodologies. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, unit testing, and integration testing. Bonus Qualifications Experience working with genetic and biological data. Active involvement in open source communities (GitHub, etc.). Multi-platform development experience (POSIX, WinAPI). Containerization experience (Docker). Familiarity with parsing tools (flex/bison) and developing domain-specific languages.Compensation Salary Range:
$130,000.00 - $150,000.00 Final compensation is based on technical skills, experience, education, certifications, and clearance.
