Position Description:
CGI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer/Developer to design, build, and maintain high-performance applications supporting Congress.govs legislative information mission. The Engineer will develop secure, cloud-ready components integrated within LOCs enterprise development environment, delivering reliable, accessible, and scalable solutions for congressional data and public transparency.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Develop microservices, APIs, and modular application components. Write secure, efficient, maintainable code for large-scale data and public-facing systems. Build automated tests and ensure enterprise software quality standards. Integrate applications with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps tooling. Support modernization efforts, refactoring legacy functionality into cloud-ready designs. Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional LOC and CGI teams. Required qualifications to be successful in this role: U.S. Citizenship Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field 7+ years of professional software development experience Proficiency in languages such as Java and Python Proficiency in MySQL, Mongo DB, Solr, and OracleExperience with secure coding practices and federal software development environments Experience with PHP (/Symfony), Angular, and Node Experience contributing within Agile/Scrum teams Desired Qualifications Experience developing on AWS or other cloud platforms Experience modernizing legacy components to cloud-native architectures Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks, containerization, and API-first design What you can expect from us: Together, as owners, lets turn meaningful insights into action.
