Newport News, VA Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain an advanced pollution control software suite. This is a hands-on role involving both high-level application development and low-level embedded systems programming within industrial control environments. This is not an entry-level or training role; candidates must bring prior relevant experience. A background in electrical engineering is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain Windows-based control software using Delphi (Embarcadero RAD Studio). Implement and support industrial communication protocols such as OPC DA and Modbus TCP. Develop embedded firmware in C for various hardware platforms. Utilize development tools including MPLAB X, Atmel Studio, and IAR Embedded Workbench. Collaborate with controls and automation engineers to integrate software with PLC systems. Analyze user requirements and translate them into effective software solutions. Design, test, and deploy software aligned with business and technical needs. Recommend and implement enhancements for existing applications and systems. Develop modular and scalable software components for system integration. Create technical documentation, including diagrams, flowcharts, and models. Ensure software reliability through continuous testing, debugging, and maintenance. Troubleshoot and resolve post-deployment issues, including user-reported problems.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Must have strong experience in Delphi programming (Embarcadero RAD Studio). Experience with embedded systems development and/or Pascal programming . Solid experience with OPC DA and Modbus TCP protocols. Hands-on experience in C programming for embedded systems. Familiarity with development environments such as MPLAB X, Atmel Studio, and IAR Embedded Workbench. Proven experience working in industrial environments or control systems. This role is not suitable for entry-level candidates ; prior hands-on experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Background in Electrical Engineering . Experience with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation platforms. Ability to program and troubleshoot PLC ladder logic. Familiarity with RSLogix 500, Studio 5000, and Connected Components Workbench. Background in industrial automation and system integration.

Pay:
