Subsidiary Steel Dynamics Overview A Lead Software Developer guides a team of 3-4 developers building and maintaining internal business applications, splitting their time between hands-on development and technical leadership. POSITION- Roanoke, Virginia § Lead day-to-day development: plan, coordinate, and perform work; review code; and maintain timely and quality delivery standards § Set and maintain best practices and patterns for quality, testing, source control, security, and deployment § Design, build, test, and maintain applications using C#/.NET and SQL Server § Work directly with end users to gather requirements and create specifications § Advise leadership on opportunities to improve existing processes and use technology to support the business § Mentor team and encourage continuous improvement and deliberate experimentation § Perform other duties as required

Qualifications Required:

§ 3+ years of professional software development § Strong proficiency in C# and SQL Server § Working knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript § Experience with source control (Git) § Strong communication skills, especially explaining technical details to non-technical end-users and in facilitating team collaboration § Ability to balance competing constraints and priorities

Preferred:

§ Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and/or Dynamics Gp (Great Plains) § Experience with Blazor § Experience with automation (ex. CI/CD) § A degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field Steel Dynamics, Inc., and all affiliated entities are equal opportunity employers.
