Job Description

Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Secret Cleared Software Engineer to support a U.S. Navy program in Suffolk, VA. This individual will join a team of developers supporting a suite of mission-critical testing applications in a complex enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with C#, ASP.NET MVC/Core, SQL Server, and modern web development practices, with the ability to contribute across both backend and frontend development efforts while supporting Agile and DevOps-driven software delivery. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise software applications using C#, ASP.NET MVC, and ASP.NET Core
  • Design, build, and support RESTful APIs and backend services
  • Develop and maintain SQL Server databases, including querying, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
  • Contribute to frontend development efforts using JavaScript frameworks, including Vue.js
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across multiple interconnected applications
  • Collaborate with a team of developers, stakeholders, and program leadership to gather requirements and deliver software solutions
Compensation:
$55
  • 60/hr Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
  • Participate in Agile development ceremonies, code reviews, and sprint planning activities
  • Develop and execute unit tests to ensure software quality and reliability
  • Utilize Azure DevOps and Git for source control, version management, CI/CD pipelines, and requirements traceability
  • Work within a multi-repository architecture supporting a modular suite of applications
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, test plans, and software artifacts
  • Support the integration, deployment, and sustainment of mission-critical applications used in Navy testing and evaluation environments
  • Adhere to established software engineering standards, security requirements, and development best practices
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • 3+ years of experience developing applications in C# and ASP.NET
  • 2+ years of experience developing REST APIs using ASP.NET Core
  • Experience with SQL Server and relational database development
  • Experience working in Agile software development environments
  • Ability to work 100% onsite in Suffolk, VA
  • Security+ Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Experience with Vue.js, JavaScript, or TypeScript
  • Experience with Git and Azure DevOps
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps/DevSecOps practices
  • Experience with Entity Framework, T-SQL, and unit testing frameworks (xUnit, nUnit, MSTest)
  • Previous experience supporting Department of Defense or Navy software programs
