Built for pioneers by pioneers, CoreWeave delivers a platform of technology, tools, and teams that enables innovators to build and scale AI with confidence. Trusted by leading AI labs, startups, and global enterprises, CoreWeave combines superior infrastructure performance with deep technical expertise to accelerate breakthroughs and turn compute into capability. What You'll Do:
Applications Engineering, part of CoreWeave's Data Infrastructure organization, builds the software CoreWeave uses to plan and operate its own infrastructure business. Some of that is UNION, our data platform, where anyone in the company can query the lakehouse in plain language and stand up their own dashboards, applications, and agents. The rest is the applications behind decisions like which data centers get which hardware and when, for a company adding gigawatts of capacity a year. Engineering, finance, supply chain, and data center operations all depend on what we ship.
About the role:
You will ship features in UNION and in the applications teams run their processes on, working across the stack: TypeScript with React and Next.js in the browser, Python services running on Kubernetes, and the queries and data models underneath. Some of it is AI-facing, like the natural language interfaces and agents people use to ask questions against governed data. You will take one scoped piece at a time and carry it to production yourself, tests and post-release fixes included, working next to a senior engineer who owns the wider area. The people using it work here, so you will hear from them directly and see your work change how they work within a week or two.
Who You Are:
2+ years building production software, or equivalent depth from internships and substantial projects Working proficiency in a backend language, Python preferred, and in JavaScript or TypeScript Experience building web frontends with a modern framework such as React or Next.js Experience building or consuming HTTP APIs in something that ran in production Working SQL, including writing and debugging joins and aggregations against a relational database Some exposure to AI and LLM development, such as prompting, retrieval, tool calling, or agents Familiar with version control, code review, automated testing, and
CI/CD Preferred:
Experience with containers and deployment tooling such as Docker, Helm, or Kubernetes Exposure to data platforms and analytical databases such as Spark, StarRocks, Snowflake, or BigQuery Experience building AI-native features such as text-to-SQL interfaces, copilots, or insight generation Experience building internal tools that other people relied on day to day Wondering if you're a good fit? We believe in investing in our people, and value candidates who can bring their own diversified experiences to our teams - even if you aren't a 100% skill or experience match. Here are a few qualities we've found compatible with our team. If some of this describes you, we'd love to talk. You want the people using your software to be people you know by name, and you take it personally when it gets in their way You want a piece of the product that is yours to own end to end, from the first conversation with a user to the thing running in production You work well at speed. Priorities here move with the business, and the problems worth solving tend to arrive on short notice When you build an AI feature, you want a way to tell whether it is wrong before a user finds it You want to understand the process you are building for, not just the ticket that describes it Why CoreWeave?
