As a Software Engineer, you will join a multidisciplinary team of designers, engineers, and problem-solvers working together under one roof to turn ideas into real, functioning products. Our projects span the medical, agricultural, industrial, consumer, health and wellness, and recreation industries, so the technical challenges are always evolving. One project may involve developing a cloud-based application for a connected product; the next could focus on designing web services, integrating IoT devices, or solving a complex software architecture challenge. With more than 100 projects each year, the work is varied, fast-moving, and highly collaborative. About the Role This role is ideal for an experienced software engineer who enjoys technical problem-solving, systems thinking, and working directly with clients and cross-functional teams. You will contribute throughout the full product development lifecycle; from reviewing requirements and shaping product features to architecting, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting software solutions. You will work closely with designers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, firmware engineers, project managers, and clients to create stable, maintainable applications and connected-product experiences. What You Will Do Review product requirements, develop project estimates, and break complex work into manageable tasks Design, develop, test, and maintain stable, scalable software solutions Design and implement cloud-based web applications, web services, and IoT solutions Collaborate with clients to define product features, clarify technical requirements, and architect effective solutions Troubleshoot and resolve software issues throughout development and after deployment Participate in software architecture decisions and technical design discussions Work within collaborative, Agile development teams Contribute to code reviews, automated testing, continuous integration, and other software quality practices Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences Continuously expand your skills through varied project work, emerging technologies, and shared learning What We Are Looking For Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline Five or more years of professional experience designing, developing, testing, and debugging web-based software solutions Strong software development fundamentals Professional experience with Java, Python, or C# Experience developing RESTful or SOAP web services Experience deploying and managing web applications or services using AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Experience working on software projects using Agile development methodologies Proficiency with source control and development tools such as Git, continuous integration platforms, and automated testing frameworks Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and technical communication skills Ability to organize work, manage changing priorities, and maintain attention to both system-level goals and important technical details Nice to Have Experience architecting software systems Experience leading software development projects or technical teams Experience developing software for connected products or IoT applications Experience collaborating with firmware, electrical, mechanical, or industrial design teams Experience working directly with clients to shape product requirements and technical solutions Experience contributing to software development standards, processes, or engineering best practices Why i3 At i3, Software Engineers do not work in isolation.
