Software Development Engineering Intern Req #336 ACS, 633 Liberty Drive, Verona, Wisconsin, United States of America Apply Share Job Description Posted Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at 2:00 AM Software Development Engineering Intern ACS is looking for a Software Development Engineering Intern to join our team. The Software Development Intern will work with teams of engineers of varied disciplines to design, build and commission various test systems for automotive and aerospace applications. This position is located in our Verona, WI for the summer of 2027. Essential job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Generate or review 2D schematics and shop drawings for DAQ and control systems (AutoCAD) Program and integrate HMIs, data acquisition systems, and control systems (LabVIEW, Python, NI, etc.) Create software functional specification, control sequences, design specifications, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams Design, set up, and perform system functionality tests on equipment in our fabrication facility and at customer sites Maintain quality customer and vendor relationships Perform onsite startup and validation of equipment I/O checkout and troubleshooting Calibrate instrumentation Validate programming Tune PID loops Obtain, review, and report on equipment quotations, proposals, and technical submissions Solicit bids, review bids, specify, and purchase electrical and controls equipment for projects Work to meet client deadlines including balancing multiple priorities and responding to changes in deadline, scope, and design as they occur Ability to diagnose and perform hands on repair of all types of equipment and instrumentation (mechanical and electrical test equipment, measurement devices, actuators, control systems, motor drives, pumps, valves, regulators, etc.) Basic requirements include: Students in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronic or Robotics Engineering with 3 rd and 4 th year preferred Experience with measuring devices (DMMs, oscilloscopes, sensors, etc.) LabVIEW experience would be a plus but not required Ability to prioritize multiple tasks Highly effective interpersonal skills Ability to travel to customer facilities for design meetings, equipment installation supervision, and commissioning Expected to meet client deadlines, including balancing multiple tasks and responding to changes in deadline, scope and design as they occur Ability to work well in project team environment, including: team player, takes initiative to improve personal and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively with all internal and external levels and groups ACS specializes in the engineering, integration and construction of technically complex R D and production equipment, controls, and facilities.
