Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and versatile Program Developer with proficiency in both RPG and Java programming languages. The ideal candidate will have proven experience developing and maintaining applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform. This role involves analyzing user requirements, designing robust solutions, and supporting business critical systems to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability. Design, develop, and test, and maintain applications written in RPG IV/ILE, Free-Form RPG and Java . Support and enhance legacy RPG programs and modern Java based applications. Work with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into functional specifications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analyst, systems administrators and Production Control Team. Participate in code reviews and enforce best practices in programming and application design. Integrate IBM i applications with external systems via API's, web services and middleware. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues in a timely manner. Assist with database design, optimization, and maintenance using DB2 for i . Participate in system upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery planning. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience). 5+ years of experience programming on the IBM i (AS/400) platform.
