This platform serves as the daily operational hub for all Tesla employees — from frontline operators to executive leadership — enabling them to interact with data intuitively and act on it confidently. As a manager, you will lead a team of talented engineers responsible for designing and delivering critical components of this platform — spanning backend services, AI agentic workflows, data pipelines, and intuitive front-end experiences. You will set the technical direction, grow engineering talent, and partner closely with product, data, and business stakeholders to shape the future of analytics at Tesla.

Open to candidates in or willing to relocate to Fremont, CA or Austin, TX What You'll Do Directly manage a team of software engineers — including hiring, onboarding, performance management, career development, and retention Foster a high-performance engineering culture grounded in ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement Define and drive the technical vision and roadmap for the analytics platform, ensuring alignment with Tesla's broader data and AI strategy Serve as a hands-on technical leader who can engage deeply in design reviews, code reviews, and complex problem-solving Lead the design and delivery of AI agentic workflows integrated with homegrown and third-party LLM systems Ensure platform reliability, scalability, and performance through robust testing, monitoring, and deployment automation Collaborate with business and operations stakeholders to deeply understand Tesla's workflows and translate them into impactful data tools What You'll Bring Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience 8+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years in an engineering management or technical leadrole with direct reports Strong proficiency in Python and ReactJS with a deep understanding of performant coding patterns andscalable software architectures Proven experience with microservice based architecture, authentication/authorization frameworks, and APIdesign and integration Proficiency with relational and nonrelational database systems (MySQL, NoSQL, OpenSearch, etc.) Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines Experience with AI/LLM integration and building applied AI or agentic solutions is strongly preferred Familiarity with data orchestration frameworks such as Airflow or Temporal, experience with charting and visualization libraries (D3.js, ECharts, etc.), and experience with frontend testing frameworks(Jest, Jasmine) Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and grow engineering teams in a fast-paced environment, plus strongstrategic thinking with the ability to balance long-term vision with near-term execution Ability to operate with high autonomy, drive alignment across teams, and influence without authority Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program Expected Compensation $240,000 - $360,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
