Job Description

Cox Automotive seeks a Senior Director, Software Engineering to lead cross-functional teams building cloud-native, data-driven platforms that power our global automotive marketplace. You will own engineering strategy, architecture, and delivery for high-scale telecommunications and media solutions used by dealers and consumers worldwide. Partnering closely with Product and Data, you'll drive modern DevOps, CI/CD, and reliability practices, mentor leaders and senior engineers, and foster an inclusive, innovative culture while aligning technology outcomes to business growth. Responsibilities Lead multiple software engineering teams delivering scalable, cloud-native products for Cox Automotive's telecommunications and media platforms. Define technical strategy, architecture, and roadmaps in partnership with Product, Data, and Infrastructure teams. Drive engineering excellence through modern Dev Ops practices, CI/CD, automated testing, and observability. Hire, mentor, and develop senior engineers and managers, fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture. Ensure reliability, security, and performance of mission-critical systems used by dealers and consumers worldwide. Manage budgets, vendor relationships, and capacity planning to meet growth and performance targets. Collaborate with executive stakeholders to align engineering outcomes with business goals and KPIs. Establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and governance across distributed teams.
