Software Development & AI Systems Manager

Position Overview We are seeking a Software Development & AI Systems Manager to lead the development and implementation of our internal platform. This role will work directly with leadership to turn ideas into production systems while managing developers, engineers, and external resources. The ideal candidate is both a strong technical builder and an effective team leader. Responsibilities Lead development of internal software systems and platform architecture Manage and coordinate internal engineers, developers, and external resources Translate business and engineering workflows into structured software systems Design and enforce system architecture, data models, and development standards Build and oversee APIs, integrations, and data pipelines Review, refine, and approve work prior to deployment Ensure system reliability, scalability, and maintainability Drive projects from concept through production and iteration Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field 5+ years of experience building software systems Strong backend development and system architecture experience Proficiency in Python and SQL Experience integrating APIs and multiple systems Experience managing technical projects or teams Ability to take ownership and execute independently Preferred Qualifications Experience with AI tools or frameworks (OpenAI, LangChain, etc.) Experience modernizing or replacing legacy systems Experience with data pipelines or automation workflows Familiarity with Azure or similar cloud platforms Experience in engineering, construction, or technical industries What We're Looking For Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to work effectively with both developers and non-software engineers Organized, structured approach to system design and execution Ability to turn ideas into functional, production-ready systems Comfortable working in an evolving, build-from-scratch environment This version: avoids repeating your intro, pay, benefits, and logistics flows naturally inside Indeed's "Description" block keeps it tight, readable, and filter-focused
