We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Head of Software Engineering to lead our software development teams and drive innovation across our technology landscape. As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable, secure, and high-performance software solutions that meet strategic business objectives. We are looking for an experienced, technical, AI-first leader who specializes in applying systems thinking to solve problems.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

Develop and implement the overall software engineering strategy, aligning with company goals and market needs, including technology roadmaps and innovation initiatives.

Team Management:

Lead and manage our team of software engineers, overseeing their performance, career development, and recruitment.

Project Oversight:

Monitor and manage large-scale engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery, quality standards, and adherence to budget.

Technical Expertise:

Maintain a strong understanding of emerging technologies and industry trends to guide technical decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.

Budgeting and Resource Allocation:

Manage the software engineering department budget, allocating resources efficiently across projects and teams.

Collaboration:

Foster strong relationships with cross-functional teams such as product management, sales, and operations to ensure alignment on product development and business objectives.

Risk Management:

Identify potential technical risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.

Performance Evaluation:

Set clear performance metrics for the engineering team and regularly assess their performance against established goals. Experience Proven experience leading large-scale software engineering teams in a fast-paced environment with a focus on delivering innovative solutions. Extensive background in software development using languages such as Java, C#, Python, PHP; with strong knowledge of front-end frameworks like Angular and React. Deep understanding of cloud platforms including AWS and Azure; experience with virtualization technologies such as vSphere; familiarity with container orchestration tools like Docker or Kubernetes is a plus. Strong expertise in network security protocols including VPNs, DNS management, firewalls; experience implementing PCI compliance standards is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to manage databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB; knowledge of ETL processes and data warehouses is beneficial. Skilled in project management methodologies including Agile; capable of leading change management initiatives effectively. Exceptional leadership skills with experience managing senior technical staff; excellent communication skills for engaging stakeholders at all levels.
