09/13/2026 In this role, you will manage a team responsible for software on Storage devices and Over-The-Air updates on Kuiper satellites. Our mission is to ensure that we provide robust systems software to all the various compute systems on the satellite. Our focuses are on reliability, safety, and security. Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. In this role, you will bring that vision to life by designing, developing and testing the embedded software that controls individual satellites. Key job responsibilities
  • Hire and support top talent to meet goals of the team.
  • Define and drive the multi-year vision for the team.
  • Oversee resource allocation to ensure appropriate business and staff development goals are met.
  • Participate in strategic planning to achieve technical and business goals.
  • Work closely with engineers to architect and deliver the best technical designs and approaches.
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience
  • 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
  • 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
  • Experience in embedded systems projects
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
