RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE SOFTWARE ENGINEERING MANAGER
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers, fostering a high-performance, innovative culture Conduct regular 1:1s, provide constructive feedback, and support career development Recruit, onboard, and retain top engineering talent Drive rapid, iterative delivery using Agile/Scrum methodologies Contribute to architectural decisions and technical strategy Champion proof-of-concepts and evaluate emerging technologies to drive innovation Build and maintain strong relationships with Product, Design, Business, and Executive stakeholders Translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-focused communication Review code and provide technical guidance to the team Balance speed with quality while maintaining sustainable pace Drive urgency and maintain momentum on key initiatives Remove blockers, manage capacity planning, and optimize delivery processes
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE FOR THE SOFTWARE ENGINEERING MANAGER
8+ years of software development experience with strong hands-on coding skills 4+ years managing software engineering teams in on-shore, near-shore, and offshore environments Proficiency in modern programming languages – React, Javascript, TypeScript, NodeJS Advanced proficiency with AWS Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and system design Solid grasp of CI/CD, testing strategies, and DevOps practices Excellent communication skills across all levels (written, verbal, presentations) Familiarity with offline-first architecture and IoT integration a plus Timing is everything.
