Full Job Description Job Description:
Position will provide support to the MDA's Test Directorate, Consolidated Flight Test Organization in support of the test planning and execution of the Space Based Interceptor program. Candidate will provide pre-mission flight test design/scenario development and flight test execution by: Performing pre-mission target and interceptor trajectory generation and optimization Performing pre-mission quantitative safety and risk analyses to ensure tests can be conducted safely in accordance with Range Commanders Council safety standards Serve as the lead of Range Safety Working Group meetings at the direction of the Mission Test Director and National Test Range Safety office(s). Track action items, data delivery schedules, analysis schedules and oversee any analyses that the National Test Range requires from the MDA team Conduct pre-mission telemetry link and radar assessments to ensure flight test architecture meets data collection requirements Conduct COLA (collision avoidance) assessments for day of flight execution in coordination with the 19th Space Defense Squadron and the National Test Range Safety Office authorizing tests
Desired Skills:
Experience with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) organization and Missile Defense System (MDS) designs, performance and testing Experience with MATLAB, Python, Java, and/or other programming languages Knowledge of RF Engineering and Communication design and processing
Knowledge of Range Commander's Council Standards Understanding of Orbital Mechanics and Physics Education:
/MS in a field pertinent to the position being filled. A BA/BS with five years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for the MA/MS degree requirement
Experience:
10 years relevant experience. Experience with DoD test processes, test support, and/or test execution desired
Clearance:
Minimum Secret clearance required
