Job description Company is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find a Software Development Engineer to help accelerate software releases by ensuring the delivery of safe, reliable, and high-quality autonomous vehicle software. In this role, you'll build and maintain tooling that automates integration and acceptance testing activities across complex vehicle systems. Your work will play a critical role in validating software quality, identifying regressions, improving test coverage, and supporting functional and safety sign-off processes. You'll collaborate closely with development and validation teams to improve testing efficiency and system reliability across both simulated and on-vehicle environments. The ideal candidate is technically strong, detail-oriented, and experienced developing automated test frameworks within complex, safety-critical systems. As a Software Development Engineer in Test, you'll: Develop and maintain tooling, frameworks, and automated scripts supporting integration and acceptance testing activities. Investigate issues introduced by recent code changes and support daily integration and acceptance test sign-off activities. Monitor, analyze, and automate reporting for offline testing environments, including HIL systems, CI test runs, and on-vehicle logs. Develop tools and workflows for vehicle log analysis, failure tracing, root cause investigation, and test data analysis. Identify software regressions, support defect triage activities, and collaborate with development teams on corrective actions and improvements. Contribute to testing methodologies, validation strategies, and automation improvements supporting functional and safety validation efforts. Partner cross-functionally with software, systems, and validation teams to improve release quality and operational reliability.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field AND a minimum of 5 years in complex testing environments. (Consumer Electronics, Automotive, Aerospace, or related industries). Experience with developing automated scripts for software functional testing. Knowledge of software testing methodologies and experience in developing, executing, and automated test scripts. Expert Python programming experience with a focus on system-level tests and test framework development. Daily tasks Autonomous vehicles have some of the largest, most complex software ever shipped in a safety-critical environment. Solving that problem is one of the most exciting technical challenges of our lifetime. As a Software Development Engineer in Test on the Release Management team at company, you will help accelerate our software release by ensuring that we are shipping the safest and most reliable software possible. As developers build new features, you will be responsible for building and maintaining tooling to automate the Integration and acceptance testing activities. These efforts are critical to maintaining our code quality and ensuring our service capabilities are operating as intended. Your ability to understand the overall system design and component interaction to help guide test methodology for functional and safety sign-off is crucial to the overall success of our team. Accountability and integrity are core to our team. Required skills In this role, you will: Build and maintain tooling and develop automated scripts for efficient execution of the Integration and Acceptance testing phase. Investigation of issues arising due to recent code changes before IAT daily sign-offs. Monitor and analyze test results from offline (HIL and other CI test runs) and on-vehicle logs, and develop automated reporting. Develop tooling to support vehicle log analysis and test data to trace failures for root cause analysis, documentation, and communication Triage and identify software regressions and possible improvements for development teams.
Bonus Qualifications:
Prior experience with the rigorous verification and validation of complex robotics and safety-critical software systems with focus on performance measurements Proficiency with Github, CI, and Jira. Knowledge of using the latest AI toolset like Cursor, Co-pilot etc. and how to use them to develop prototypes and tools.
