Test Analyst

Key Responsibilities Area Responsibilities Testing Support Review business requirements, identify testing needs, and support functional and non-functional testing. Test Planning Develop test plans, test strategies, test specifications, test scripts, and test cases. Test Data Prepare, reset, and manage test data for system, functional, regression, performance, load, stress, and UAT testing. Defect Management Identify, document, track, and support resolution of defects using tools such as

JIRA, HP

ALM, Bugzilla, or JAMA. Data Quality Perform data quality activities and validate converted data from legacy systems. SQL/Data Validation Use

SQL/T-SQL

queries, stored procedures, triggers, functions, and views to support testing and data validation. UAT Support Assist business users with UAT by preparing data, running batch jobs, and producing reports. Reporting Provide weekly status reports, testing status reports, defect reports, test results, and data manipulation reports. Process Improvement Recommend improvements to testing methods, tools, frameworks, and enterprise testing standards. Knowledge Transfer Provide training, coaching, and documentation to CalSTRS staff. Required Qualifications Requirement Minimum Experience IT/IS experience with strong focus on software testing and QA 10+ years Experience overseeing testing across SDLC 10+ years Experience creating testing requirements, test plans, strategies, specifications, and configurations 5+ years Experience preparing test data, test environments, test cases, and test data sets 5+ years Experience with defect tracking tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla, HP ALM, or JAMA 5+ years Data quality activities 3+ years SQL Server/T-SQL experience including stored procedures, triggers, UDFs, and views Required Experience analyzing test results, generating scripts, identifying defects, and refining test data/cases 5+ years Experience validating data converted from legacy systems 3+ years Preferred Qualifications Preferred Skill Experience Supporting business testing activities, test data setup, batch jobs, and data reports 3+ years Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and graphics 3+ years Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related engineering field Preferred Ability to work onsite 2 3 days per week in West Sacramento, CA Preferred Expected Deliverables Deliverable Test plans Test scripts Test data Defect reports Test results Testing status reports Data manipulation reports Weekly status reports Monthly engagement status updates Final report with activities, accomplishments, lessons learned, and recommendations Tools / Technologies Category Tools / Skills Defect/Test Management JIRA, Bugzilla, HP
