Position Overview We are seeking a motivated and meticulous Hardware & Software Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team in Jacksonville, FL . This role is critical in ensuring the reliability, performance, quality, and user experience of both our physical security devices and software platforms before they reach our customers. The ideal candidate will have experience testing hardware and software systems, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment focused on life-saving technology. Key Responsibilities Execute and document comprehensive functional, performance, regression, integration, and durability tests on both hardware and software products. Test and validate hardware devices including X-ray systems, weapons detection systems, metal detectors, monitors, and related peripherals. Verify software functionality, user interfaces, workflows, APIs, integrations, and system performance across multiple environments. Develop, maintain, and improve test plans, test cases, QA procedures, and testing documentation for hardware and software products. Identify, isolate, reproduce, and report hardware defects, software bugs, inconsistencies, and performance issues using a tracking system. Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and Operations teams to understand requirements and provide feedback on product quality and usability. Conduct routine audits of assembled products, software releases, and production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications. Perform root cause analysis for hardware failures and software defects and verify corrective actions and fixes. Assist in setting up and maintaining hardware testing labs, software testing environments, and QA tools. Participate in release validation, regression testing, and acceptance testing for new software and firmware releases. Maintain accurate records of all testing activities, results, quality metrics, and defect reports. Qualifications Previous experience in Hardware Quality Assurance, Software Quality Assurance, Testing, Technical Support, or a related field is required. Experience testing web applications, desktop applications, mobile applications, firmware, or integrated hardware/software systems is preferred. Familiarity with basic electronics and the ability to read technical schematics is a plus. Experience creating test plans, test cases, bug reports, and QA documentation. Familiarity with bug tracking and project management tools such as Jira, ClickUp, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms. Proficient in using hardware testing tools such as multimeters, power supplies, and diagnostic equipment. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs and working with various equipment setups. Excellent communication and technical writing skills. A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn complex security technologies.
