Description:
We are seeking a UAT Tester — to be supplied by a qualified vendor — to support our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Transaction Monitoring team on a contract basis. The engaged resource will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our transaction monitoring systems by designing, executing, and documenting test cases that validate system behavior against business requirements. The contractor will collaborate with business users, analysts, and developers within an Agile Scrum delivery environment. A solid foundation in UAT practices and a basic familiarity with SQL for data checks are the primary expectations for this engagement.
Scope of Work & Responsibilities:
Test Planning & Execution:
Develop and execute UAT test plans and test cases based on business requirements and functional specifications for AML transaction monitoring systems.
Data Validation:
Perform straightforward data checks using basic SQL queries to verify data accuracy and integrity within the system under test.
Defect Management:
Identify, document, and track software defects using tools such as ZEPHYR or Jira, ensuring issues are clearly recorded and followed through to resolution.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work with business analysts, developers, and business users to understand requirements and provide clear feedback on testing outcomes and system behavior. Attend and contribute to Agile Scrum ceremonies Including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives — to support team communication and delivery.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
2-4 years in software testing with a focus on UAT, preferably within financial services. Testing Knowledge Good understanding of UAT processes and the Software Test Life Cycle (STLC). SQL Basic ability to write SQL queries to support data validation and integrity checks during testing. Test Management Tools Familiarity with ZEPHYR, Jira, or similar defect tracking and test management tools.
Key Competencies:
Competency Description Level UAT Testing Solid understanding of user acceptance testing — including test case design, execution, defect reporting, and retesting. Required Basic SQL Comfortable writing simple queries to check data values and support validation tasks during testing cycles. Required Agile Scrum Experience working within a sprint-based team, participating in ceremonies and contributing to iterative delivery. Required AML Awareness Basic familiarity with Anti-Money Laundering concepts or transaction monitoring systems such as Mantas or Actimize is a plus. Preferred Analytical Skills Ability to understand functional requirements and translate them into clear, well-structured test cases and scenarios. Required Communication Clear written and verbal communication to report defects, testing progress, and outcomes to both technical and business stakeholders.
