The Position:
AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Software Quality Assurance Analyst and Tester (JSE Test Execution)-Junior to support Battlespace Modeling & Simulation. The salary range of this position is $62,000.00 - $87,000.00 and is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

Position Background:
Analysis, Debrief, and Test (ADT) Branch supports the development, integration, and testing of the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) Technical Baseline (JTB) product suite and virtual platforms that integrate with the environment. The software products comprising the JTB support modeling and simulation (M&S) environments; trainer systems; test and evaluation (T&E); analysis; live, virtual and constructive (LVC); research and development (R D) activities for DoD agencies and its international partners. All products are government owned, developed and managed.

A typical day as a Software Quality Assurance Analyst and Tester (JSE Test Execution)-Junior may include:
  • Supports running simulation stations for testing, customer training and demonstrations
  • Trains to be interchangeable to operate and test the
SIM/NGTS/DIADS
stations
  • Tests a variety of Jira issues (new feature implementation, bug fixes, database queries, etc.)
  • Documents test results discovered by issues in Jira
  • Collaborates with NGTS software developers and subject matter experts during training sessions
  • Creates new test procedures and documents to validate new requirements
  • Communicates access across a large team to verify correct procedures and software issue diagnosis
  • Runs extensive regression tests when software reaches Release Candidate (RC) phase
Must-haves:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology, Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Operations Research, Data Analytics or Engineering OR HS Diploma/Equivalent with 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Degree obtained from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
  • Experience with Linux operating system
  • Experience with scripting
  • Willingness to work in small group settings (close quarters)
  • The desire to learn how to operate multiple stations that support the Joint Simulation Environment
  • The ability to support a flexible schedule
  • Willingness to be flexible with day to day tasks
  • The ability to obtain and maintain Clearance in accordance with 5205.07
  • AMEWAS willing to obtain and process full clearance-The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
Desired Skills:
  • Experience operating NGTS, DIADS or similar simulator software
  • Experience coding in C++ and Python
  • Experience supporting testing environments
  • DOD experience Skills Crucial to Success at

Physical Environment and Working Conditions:
The physical environment for this position requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday. Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc. The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site or near the work site.
