Job Description Join a connected vehicle technologies team responsible for testing the in-vehicle customer experience across data, smartphones, and web services. In this junior role, you will support over-the-air (OTA) software testing and automation, performing both manual and automated tests on cutting-edge automotive, infotainment, and connectivity features. You will contribute to the quality and reliability of next-generation connected vehicle solutions by developing and executing test plans, identifying defects, and leveraging automation frameworks and Python scripting. Responsibilities Develop, document, and execute test plans, test scenarios, and detailed test cases based on project requirements and specifications. Perform manual and automated software testing for automotive, infotainment, and connectivity features, including OTA (Over-the-Air) software updates. Identify, document, and track defects with clear and accurate reporting to ensure timely resolution. Configure and maintain test environments, including required hardware, software, and network components. Prepare, manage, and validate test data to ensure it is accurate, reliable, and appropriate for the planned tests. Generate and maintain detailed test reports, clearly documenting test results, observations, and recommendations. Support the automation of test processes by developing and maintaining automated test scripts using the client's automation framework and Python. Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather and refine test plans, including test cases, use cases, and testing directives. Follow established guidelines and best practices for developing and maintaining test automation scripts. Create and share concise summary reports of test results via email and/or tools such as TestRail. Investigate reported valid failures (defects), reproduce issues as recommended, collect and provide detailed logs and supporting information, and verify fixes through regression testing. Work within an Agile environment, participating in relevant ceremonies and using tools such as Jira for defect tracking and test management. Essential Skills Experience with Python for scripting and test automation. Ability to develop and execute test plans, test scenarios, and test cases. Hands-on experience with manual software testing, including running test cases and reporting defects. Familiarity with test planning and test management practices. Experience or academic exposure to Selenium or similar test automation tools. Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile environment. Experience using Jira or similar tools for defect tracking and task management. Basic knowledge of CAN bus and automotive communication concepts. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, or a closely related discipline). Junior-level profile with either at least one project in test and automation or approximately 0-1 year of professional experience in software testing. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with software testing tools such as TestRail for test case management is preferred. Experience using Atlassian Jira for defect tracking and project collaboration is preferred. Familiarity with automotive communication technologies such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet is a plus. Knowledge of ISO14229/UDS or similar automotive diagnostic protocols is beneficial. Exposure to Jenkins or other CI/CD tools is advantageous. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate, reproduce, and document defects in detail. Clear written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with stakeholders and preparing test documentation and reports. Attention to detail and a structured approach to testing and documentation. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Allen Park, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
