The Lead SAP Test Automation Engineer defines and drives the enterprise test automation strategy across integrated systems, ensuring scalable, high-quality solutions that support business critical initiatives. This role provides technical leadership in designing, implementing, and governing automated testing frameworks while enabling continuous testing within complex enterprise environments. Essential Functions Own the enterprise test automation strategy, ensuring automation decisions align with business risk, return on investment, and release readiness objectives Deliver scalable, end to end automation solutions that strengthen regression, integration, and cross system testing capabilities across integrated enterprise platforms Enable continuous testing by integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines, improving release velocity, stability, and environment efficiency Govern automation frameworks, standards, and quality metrics to provide clear visibility into test coverage, defect trends, and overall quality performance Evaluate business and technical requirements to define automation scope, proactively mitigate risk, and improve system stability and scalability Lead technical quality efforts as a subject matter expert, mentoring QA and automation engineers and driving consistent adoption of enterprise automation practices Influence quality-driven design decisions by partnering with development, architecture, and product teams to resolve complex issues and optimize system configurations Safeguard the integrity and compliance of the Quality Assurance environment in accordance with Patterson QA standards, methodologies, and governance models Comply with Company and department policies and standards; performs other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent education and/or experience 7 years of progressive experience in test automation, enterprise systems, or related experience 5 years of automation experience with tools such as Tricentis Tosca 5 years SAP experience with Test automation in ECC andS/4HANA SAP
Experience with CI/CD integration and continuous testing tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, (ADO); qTest; ALM, or similar toolsSAP:
Experience in risk-based testing, model-based automation, and reusable test asset design Experience with end-to-end and integration testing approaches; UI automation; REST APIs; IDOCs; RFCs; web services; middleware technologies Skills and Abilities Strong understanding of performance testing methodologies and non-functional automation strategies, including industry standard tools and open-source frameworks (e.g., NeoLoad, LoadRunner, Selenium, Playwright, Apache JMeter) Advanced knowledge of automation engineering techniques, including data driven testing, service virtualization, test data provisioning, automated regression optimization, and parallel execution within complex enterprise environments Ability to design, scale, and maintain enterprise grade automation frameworks and reusable test assets that support long term quality, resiliency, and delivery objectives Demonstrated ability to deliver end to end automated testing solutions across multiple layers, including user interface, API, integration, performance, and other non-functional testing modalities Strong capability to define and drive enterprise level test automation strategies, including automation coverage models, traceability, and KPI based quality and reporting dashboards Knowledge of test governance models and automation Centers of Excellence (COE), including the establishment of standards, quality metrics, operating models, and best practices across large automation programs Ability to align test automation strategy with product roadmaps, MVPs, and broader business objectives, ensuring automation investments support risk mitigation and value delivery Advanced understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and product centric delivery models, with the ability to operate effectively within iterative, cross functional environments Knowledge of integrating automated testing within cloud based and DevOps ecosystems, enabling continuous testing through CI/CD pipelines and modern delivery toolchains Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, lead distributed onshore/offshore teams, resolve complex enterprise issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives Preferred Licenses and Certifications Certification in Tricentis Tosca (Automation Specialist or Architect) or Agile methodologies Preferred Physical and Cognitive Demands Communicate/Hearing Frequently Communicate/Talking Frequently Learn New Tasks or Concepts Frequently Make Timely Decisions in the Context of a Workflow Frequently Complete Tasks Independently Constantly Maintain Focus Constantly Remember Processes & Procedures Constantly Stationary Position (Seated)Constantly Vision Constantly What's In It For You:
