Job Description
This is a 6-month contract position for a QA Automation Architect based in Los Angeles, California. The role is hybrid, requiring 3 days per week on-site. You will lead the design and implementation of scalable, enterprise-grade automation frameworks and drive automation strategy across distributed teams to enable high-quality releases. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks from scratch using Playwright and TypeScript Implement UI, API, and end-to-end test automation strategies Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar) Define and implement test strategies, quality gates, and reporting metrics Drive AI-based QA initiatives, including test generation, optimization, and self-healing tests Identify and resolve test flakiness and performance bottlenecks Collaborate with cross-functional teams and client stakeholders Lead and mentor offshore and onshore QA teams Establish best practices, coding standards, and reusable automation components Qualifications Required 10+ years of experience in QA and test automation Proven experience as a QA Automation Architect or Staff QA Engineer Playwright (mandatory) TypeScript (mandatory) UI Automation and API Testing Experience building automation frameworks from scratch Strong understanding of CI/CD integration and DevOps practices Experience with AI/ML in QA, such as test generation, predictive analysis, or intelligent automation Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills Strong communication and client-facing experience Preferred Experience with Playwright MCP Server or AI-based automation tools Insurance or regulated domain experience Experience working in onsite-offshore delivery models
