Job Description

QA Automation Lead Rate:
$65-68/hr.
Contract Duration:
3-6 months (through 6/30/26 ; extension expected for high performance)

Hybrid - Wisconsin residents only (no relocation) Role Overview This role provides technical leadership and hands?on QA automation expertise , responsible for defining and implementing scalable automation frameworks , improving test reliability , and driving measurable quality outcomes across complex web applications and backend services . The ideal candidate has deep experience with modern web automation , particularly Playwright , and a strong background testing Java and Scala / PureScript systems backed by PostgreSQL databases. Key Responsibilities Automation Strategy & Architecture Define and execute a comprehensive test automation strategy aligned with application roadmaps Architect and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Playwright , Java , Scala / PureScript , and GitLab Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites (UI, API, integration, regression) Establish best practices for functional, integration, regression, API, and database testing Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines Review test plans and scripts and enforce quality standards Leadership & Collaboration Lead and mentor QA automation engineers Conduct technical reviews and enforce coding standards Partner with software engineering, DevOps, and product teams Participate in project meetings, test refinement, and release readiness sign?off Quality Governance & Metrics Define test strategies for new features and platform enhancements Establish and track KPIs for automation coverage, stability, and defect leakage Provide metrics?based reporting and recommendations to leadership Required Qualifications 6+ years of QA automation experience 3+ years in a senior or lead role Expert proficiency with modern automation frameworks/tools : Playwright , Selenium , Cypress , Appium Experience testing systems backed by PostgreSQL (including SQL validation) API testing experience (RESTful services) CI/CD integration experience ( GitLab CI , Jenkins , GitHub Actions ) Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments Proficiency in at least one programming language ( Java , Python , JavaScript ) Strong analytical and problem?solving skills Preferred Qualifications Experience designing automation frameworks from the ground up Knowledge of test reporting tools Experience with Docker / containerization Familiarity with AWS or Azure Performance and load testing experience Experience implementing or supporting NIST or other cybersecurity risk frameworks #LI-JH1 #INDTS Peoplelink LLC, a leader in the staffing industry for the past 33 years, continues our vision of 'linking' communities through employment.
