IDR is seeking a QA Engineer III to join one of our top clients for a remote opportunity. This role involves owning quality strategy and execution for a leading gaming platform, focusing on compatibility testing across various hardware, operating systems, and performance tiers. QA Engineer III:
Own the compatibility test strategy, planning, execution, and reporting for major game releases and updates. Define risk-based coverage to ensure the game functions correctly across supported hardware and software configurations. Investigate complex compatibility issues, communicate their impact, and recommend mitigation strategies. Collaborate with engineering, platform, and customer support teams to improve diagnostics, automation, and testing processes. Mentor junior team members and contribute to reusable testing standards and assets. Requirements for the
QA Engineer III:
6+ years of software quality assurance experience, including leadership in QA efforts for complex products or live-service releases. Experience with compatibility, systems, hardware, client, or platform-focused testing, including risk-based test planning and coverage strategy. Experience investigating defects across hardware, operating systems, drivers, peripherals, graphics, input, or performance conditions and translating findings into clear release decisions. Experience working with distributed or external QA teams, operating independently, managing ambiguity, and influencing decisions across disciplines; strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. Experience testing live-service games, especially PC games with frequent patches and a broad range of player hardware configurations. What's in it for you?
