Job Requisition ID #26WD96942Senior QA Engineer - Computation Design and AutomationAutodesk is transforming the Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Owner (AECO) sector by enhancing existing Computational Design and Automation methods with cutting-edge Agentic technologies, seamlessly integrating them into products such as Revit, Civil 3D, Construction Cloud, and Forma.
As a Senior Principal Software Engineer, you will leverage your advanced development expertise and proven industry experience to drive the next wave of Computational Design, Automation, and Agentic technologies across our AEC portfolio. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including software engineers, designers, and industry experts to define product vision and technical strategy. Your role will ensure the seamless integration of sophisticated workflow automation tools within Autodesk's product suite and tailored cloud solutions for the industry.
We are looking for a dynamic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is passionate about tackling complex customer challenges, excels in navigating ambiguity, and can effectively manage multiple priorities while maintaining a clear strategic focus. ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain automated tests for cloud-native services: API/contract tests, and end-to-end workflow tests.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
Perform functional, regression, integration, performance and system-level testing.
Validate non-functional requirements: performance, resiliency/failure modes, and observability-driven debugging (logs/metrics/traces)Conduct exploratory and scenario-based testing focused on real-world workflows.
Validate usability, workflow consistency, and overall user experience.
Help evolve scenario-based regression suites for AI-integrated workflows (multi-step tasks, tool calls, retrieval-backed behaviors)Curate and maintain golden datasets (test cases, expected behaviors, labels/metadata)AI-assisted delivery: Utilize AI coding agents to accelerate delivery of tests and automation.
Publish results to dashboards and establish alerting for failures/regressionsParticipate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peersParticipate in team development process, including daily scrum, planning, code reviews, and advocate for quality and user experience within the teamStay current with industry trends and best practices in software and ML development.
Function well in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing environment.
Minimum Qualifications 5+ years of professional experience in software development specifically as a QA EngineerBS or MS in Computer Science or related technical fieldPrevious experience designing testing automation for delivery of modern web/cloud applicationsroven verification habits: test design, CI hygiene, disciplined incremental delivery, and strong debugging skillsStrong programming skills in Python, C#, and/or TypeScript/Java; you write maintainable automation code, not just scriptsProficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation tasks.
Experience with Continuous Integration, Continuous Deliver, DevOps, etcExperience in working in an Agile environmentExperience in working with distributed teamPreferred QualificationsExposure to CAD applications and BIM workflowsExposure to 3D computer graphics and/or computational geometryActively contribute to a learning-driven culture, sharing knowledge, mentoring peers, and fostering an environment of continuous growth.
