This role focuses on authoring, structuring, and deploying technical policies in machine-readable formats, enabling seamless integration with security and compliance platforms. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between cybersecurity compliance and technical implementation, leveraging tools like GitHub and Markdown to ensure policies are scalable, version-controlled, and automation-ready.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret and analyze complex cybersecurity, compliance, and IT operational policies Author and maintain policies in Markdown (MD) with a focus on machine readability Convert Markdown documents into HTML for publishing and consumption Manage policy versioning and collaboration using GitHub repositories Collaborate with security engineering teams to deploy policies through technical platforms Ensure policies are structured for automation and orchestration tools Align policy content with frameworks like
ISO 27001, NIST
, and other compliance standards Continuously improve documentation processes for clarity and technical accuracy Support communication and training for new or updated policies
Required Qualifications:
Experience in technical policy writing within cybersecurity or IT compliance Strong proficiency in Markdown (MD) and HTML conversion Hands-on experience with GitHub (version control, collaboration workflows) Understanding of policy-as-code / machine-readable policy formats Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks ( NIST, ISO 27001, etc. ) Strong written communication and attention to detail Ability to collaborate across technical and compliance teams
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with PowerShell, Python , or scripting for automation Familiarity with SOAR platforms (Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response) Knowledge of cloud security policies and controls Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments
Pay:
$70,710.45 - $100,156.67 per year
