LPL Financial Job Description We are seeking an experienced Lead QA Automation Engineer to join our team supporting LPL Financial in Fort Mill, SC. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in test automation, QA leadership, API/UI testing, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies, with the ability to lead automation initiatives and mentor QA engineers. Key Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and implementation of automated testing frameworks for web and enterprise applications.

Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium, Java, Python, or similar automation technologies.

Create comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test cases, and automation suites.

Perform UI, API, integration, regression, functional, and end-to-end testing.

Lead QA automation efforts across multiple applications and projects.

Review requirements and technical specifications to identify test scenarios and potential quality risks.

Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.

Work closely with developers, business analysts, product owners, and other stakeholders to identify and resolve defects.

Analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, and provide detailed defect reports.

Establish QA automation standards, best practices, coding guidelines, and reusable components.

Mentor and provide technical guidance to QA engineers and automation testers.

Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, refinement, demos, and retrospectives.

Track testing progress, risks, defects, and quality metrics and communicate status to project leadership.

Continuously evaluate and introduce improvements to testing processes, tools, and automation coverage.

Support production validation, release testing, and post-release quality activities as needed.

Required Skills

8+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Test Automation.

Strong experience with Selenium WebDriver and automation framework development.

Strong programming experience with Java and/or Python.

Experience with API testing using tools such as REST Assured, Postman, or similar.

Experience with SQL and database validation.

Strong knowledge of Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines.

Experience with Git/GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket.

Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum, and QA methodologies.

Experience creating scalable, maintainable, and reusable automation frameworks.

Strong knowledge of functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing.

Experience with defect management tools such as JIRA.

Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Proven experience leading QA teams or automation initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in the financial services, banking, brokerage, or investment domain.

Experience testing highly secure and transaction-oriented applications.

Knowledge of AWS/Azure cloud environments.

Experience with Cucumber/BDD.

Experience with Docker/Kubernetes.

Familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter.

Experience with microservices and distributed applications.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

Leadership Expectations

Act as the technical QA/automation lead for assigned projects.

Define automation strategy and determine appropriate levels of test automation.

Mentor junior and mid-level QA engineers.

Conduct code reviews and ensure automation quality standards are followed.

Collaborate with engineering leadership to improve overall software quality and release confidence.

Provide accurate estimates, testing status, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.
