Lead Infrastructure Test Engineer
JOB DUTIES
As a member of Enterprise Platform & Performance Engineerings (EPPE) Infrastructure Test team, you will be responsible to provide centralized, independent quality assurance services to DTCCs Applications Development (AD) organization and the core applications AD supports, with the objective of reducing operational costs and improving applications stability. The Lead Infrastructure Test Engineer designs, develops, and maintains automated or manual test solutions for validating infrastructure changes or implementations. As part of the Infrastructure Test team, this role supports testing for new or modified infrastructure by various engineering groups, addressing both application and internal environment needs. The position requires experience with automated/manual testing tools such as Chef-InSpec, shell scripts, Python/Ruby, Jenkins Groovy, and monitoring tools. In addition, you will need experience in web automation such as Selenium Grid and Behavior-Driven Development. Strong verbal, written, and analytical skills are essential for collaborating with development teams, business analysts, users, and project managers to understand requirements and report status.
Your Responsibilities:
Develop and enhance Enterprise Test Engineering automated and manual solutions for infrastructure validations. Be a key technical contributor to the architectural evolution of Infrastructure Test Automation Frameworks and related capabilities. Define, design, develop, document, and maintain tools and automation frameworks for ongoing infrastructure validations as part of an Agile team. Lead testing activities and enhance standards of operation. Provide strong leadership and detailed management of change for software agents, hardware, and demand management. Correlate application release plans with infrastructure testing activities and provide status reporting focused on business needs. Actively participate in all phases of the project lifecycle, from project definition and risk assessment to requirements review and delivery, lending subject matter expertise throughout. Collaborate with Product Management, Application Development, DevOps, and other technical teams for planning and coordination. Lead teams as well as work independently as needed. Document and communicate automation framework functions, interfaces, performance criteria, test cases, and results to a range of stakeholders. Prepare comprehensive documentation and effectively communicate technical details to diverse audiences. Provide guidance, training, and mentoring to Test Engineers. Develop test automation for infrastructure implementations to validate provisioned services against security standards and requirements. Develop end-to-end automated tests in Jenkins and Chef-InSpec, integrating automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline. Develop automated web tests across multiple machines and browsers utilizing BDD. Execute and maintain automation scripts to support testing across various environments. Interact with users, business analysts, and application development teams to understand business and technical requirements and system design. Develop functional and technical expertise for the supported systems. Contribute to the overall design and enhancement of the automation framework. Integrate risk and control processes into daily responsibilities, monitoring and mitigating risks and escalating issues as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (any) or related field and 3 years of experience in the job or related position.
Prior experience to include:
CI/CD pipelines on Jenkins and source code control/repository. Experience with Unix Shell Scripts, Python/Ruby and groovy. Experience with Chef-Inspec framework tool. Minimum 3 years working experience with AWS - knowledge to create and enhance test scripts with AWS SDK and AWS CLI or AWS certificated. Minimum 1 year experience with Selenium Grid. Working experience with either TestNG or Cucumber. Hands-on experience in Development or Test Automation Framework implementations in Enterprise/Internet commercial software environments. Hands-on experience with automated web browser testing. Working experience with behavior-driven development to develop test scenarios. Applying development skills, using design patterns, data structures, and experience working in a layered architecture, applying those skills in test environments. Interpreting technical designs and specifications and designing automated solutions accordingly. Programmatically testing a variety of infrastructure components and developing tests for own programming. Automation at all software layers (e.g. UI, services, APIs, etc.) Automation in various SDLCs (e.g. agile, scrum, waterfall). Working on multiple work streams concurrently in a fast-paced environment with extensive multi-tasking and context switching.
LOCATION
Coppell, TX. Telecommuting may be permitted a few days a week. When not telecommuting, must report to DTCCs office in Coppell, TX.
