Job Description

Position Overview The Senior Test Engineer (Level III) leads complex IV&V and T&E activities supporting enterprise-scale systems within Agile and DevSecOps environments. This role is responsible for test strategy development, automation architecture design, and full lifecycle testing oversight , ensuring system readiness for release and compliance with federal standards. The Senior Test Engineer provides technical leadership across testing disciplines, including functional, performance, security, data, and accessibility testing, while ensuring integration of automated testing into CI/CD pipelines. This role plays a critical part in validating system readiness, auditing development testing practices, and advising program leadership on risks and improvements . Key Responsibilities Lead development and execution of comprehensive IV&V strategies, test plans, and test frameworks aligned with Agile and DevSecOps delivery models Design and implement test automation architecture , integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines Oversee and execute functional, performance, regression, data migration, and accessibility (508) testing Conduct independent validation of system testing activities , including audit and review of developer testing practices and results Develop complex automated test scripts and frameworks supporting regression and release readiness testing Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and test results , maintaining full lifecycle test coverage Provide technical leadership in tool selection, test data management, and testing best practices Lead defect management processes , including root cause analysis and risk identification Collaborate with stakeholders to define testing scope, priorities, and acceptance criteria Support continuous improvement of testing processes , recommending enhancements to Agile delivery and quality assurance practices Develop and present test reports, metrics, and risk assessments to program leadership Mentor junior testers and provide guidance on automation, tools, and methodologies Required Qualifications Minimum 7-10 years of experience in software testing, including significant experience in test automation and IV&V Demonstrated experience leading testing efforts in Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD environments Strong expertise with: Automation frameworks (Selenium, Katalon, TestNG/JUnit) API testing (RestEasy, SoapUI) Performance testing (JMeter, LoadRunner) Experience designing and implementing test automation architectures Deep knowledge of test management tools (ALM, Jira/Xray, Confluence) Experience integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins) Strong understanding of cloud-based systems (AWS) and enterprise platforms (e.g., Salesforce) Experience with test data management, validation, and data pipeline testing Proven ability to lead testing strategy, execution, and reporting Preferred Qualifications Advanced certifications (ISTQB Advanced, Certified Agile Tester, DevOps certifications, Client 508 Certification) Experience supporting federal IV&V programs, Client/FEMA environments, or large-scale modernization efforts Expertise in Section 508 accessibility testing and compliance Experience with risk management and audit/validation frameworks Strong background in metrics-driven quality engineering and continuous improvement
