Location:
Tumwater, WA General Description:
We are seeking a software Entry-Level QA Engineer to focus on hands-on software testing for ImageSource's ILINX® software products. The ideal candidate should possess strong curiosity, critical thinking skills, strong attention to detail, and a passion for discovering product issues and solving real-world workflow problems. In this role, you will primarily focus on creating, maintaining, and executing manual test cases for ImageSource's ILINX® software. Testing activities will also include running lightweight tools or scripts to simulate real-world scenarios, validate integrations, troubleshoot issues, and support testing efforts. As you grow in the role, you will have the opportunity to help convert manual test cases into automated tests using modern automation frameworks. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, methodical, technically curious, and eager to develop long-term QA and test automation skills while working on enterprise software used by enterprise customers every day. This position is onsite at ImageSource's headquarters in Tumwater, Washington, Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities:
Test Execution:
Execute manual test cases for assigned features, tickets, releases, and regression testing activities. Perform functional, regression, integration, and hotfix testing based on defined test plans. Validate that reported issues have been resolved without introducing new defects or regressions. Identify, reproduce, and document software defects with clear, actionable reproduction steps and supporting evidence such as logs and screenshots.
Test Case Maintenance:
Create, update, and maintain test cases based on product changes, bug fixes, and new functionality. Help improve test coverage by identifying missing, redundant, or outdated test scenarios.
Test Automation Support:
Assist with converting manual test cases into automated tests using established automation frameworks and tools. Execute automated test suites and assist in troubleshooting failed test runs.
Test Environment & Data Support:
Create and maintain test data required for various testing activities. Help configure and maintain QA test environments for ongoing testing and release validation. Support troubleshooting of test environment or configuration-related issues.
Communication & Support Expectations:
Communicate testing progress, identified issues, and testing concerns in a clear, structured, and timely manner. Demonstrate flexibility to support occasional off-hours deployments or urgent release validations based on business priorities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and interest in software testing, troubleshooting, and problem solving. Familiarity with software QA concepts, testing methodologies, and defect tracking processes. Ability to create and maintain clear and organized test documentation. Basic technical aptitude and willingness to learn automation tools, testing frameworks, and new technologies. Experience with scripting, coding, or automated testing tools is a plus. Reliable, self-motivated, and able to take ownership of assigned testing responsibilities.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with SQL is a plus Experience with Selenium, Playwright, or other automated testing tools is a plus Exposure to test automation concepts or scripting is a plus Basic experience with .NET or C# is a plus
