Job Description
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA) is seeking a skilled, adaptable, and forward-thinking Control Systems Analyst I/II (DOE) to join our Process Automation & Control team. The successful candidate will bring proven experience withSCADA/DCS
platforms, PLC programming, process automation hardware, and control network administration, along with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities in a dynamic operational environment. A quick learner with a collaborative mindset, the ideal candidate will be comfortable working across teams and adapting to evolving technologies and operational needs. As part of our team, you will apply your knowledge of automation programming, network configuration, and process control standards to design, enhance, and maintain the Agency's critical control systems. You'll collaborate closely with operations, engineering, and maintenance staff to ensure reliable plant performance, support system upgrades, and implement innovative solutions that improve efficiency and reduce downtime. A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is: Control Systems Analyst I- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in electronics, computer information systems, engineering or a closely related field, and at least three years of progressively responsible experience in implementation and maintenance of process automation and controls in wastewater/water treatment or other industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

A valid California Class C driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Agency's vehicle insurance program. ISA Certified Control Systems Professional, ISA Certified Control Systems Technician or CWEA Electrical/Instrumentation Grade III is desired. Skills and Abilities Skilled in planning and delivering automation-related projects, including developing programming specifications, coordinating system testing and inspections, maintaining configuration documentation, and tracking performance metrics to guide system upgrades and enhancements. Ability to work effectively with different departments and outside partners to keepSCADA/DCS
systems, PLC programs, and automated controls running smoothly and supporting daily operations. Strong problem-solving skills to assess how well automated systems are working, spot areas that could be more reliable or efficient, and recommend practical solutions that support the Agency's long-term needs Skilled in planning and carrying out automation projects, including setting clear goals, coordinating testing, keeping accurate records, and tracking results to guide future improvements. About Us The Inland Empire Utilities Agency is a regional wastewater treatment agency and wholesale distributor of imported water to approximately 950,000 people across 242-square miles in western San Bernardino County. Under the leadership of a directly elected five-member Board of Directors, the Agency is committed to supporting the needs of its service area and safeguarding public health through significant investments in a diverse water supply portfolio, reliable municipal/industrial wastewater collection and treatment services, and other related utility services in a regionally planned and cost-effective manner. As a member agency of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (Metropolitan), IEUA provides supplemental water supplies, primarily via the State Water Project (SWP) for distribution among nine retail agencies. Salary Range:
Control Systems Analyst I:
GU 180 ($9,281.94- $11,309.
Control Systems Analyst II:
GU 182 ($10,232.93- $12,467.

Non-Exempt Probationary Period:
