Lunar Outpost, an industry leader in space robotics and planetary vehicles, invites you to join our team! Lunar Outpost is dedicated to creating a permanent presence in space, while also driving positive impacts here on Earth. We are currently seeking a Configuration Manager to contribute to our mission in a dynamic startup environment. As a Configuration Manager, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and reporting on the accuracy and completeness of Configuration Item (CI) data. You will also manage the implementation, documentation, and approval of configuration changes, including leading Change Control Board (CCB) meetings. You will develop and enforce configuration management plans (CMPs), including defining, developing, and operating Configuration Management (CM) baselines.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure all engineering documentation, drawings, bills of material (BOMs), and as-built configurations are accurately maintained and traceable Interface with systems engineering, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure consistency between hardware configurations and verified designs Manage functional and physical configuration audits (FCAs and PCAs) and prepare required reports and verification documentation
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline 7+ years of configuration management, DevOps, or Systems Administration in the aerospace or defense industry Experience with Configuration Management tools (Windchill, Bild, Jira, etc), and version control systems Self-motivated, focused, and driven to meet critical deadlines Excellent organization and time management skills Excellent written and oral communication skills U.S.
Person Preferred Qualifications:
Support compliance with ITAR, export control, and government data management requirements Hands‑on experience following AS9100 quality requirements and CMMI processes
