Configuration Analyst (Level 2) or Principal Configuration Analyst (Level 3) Overview Insight Global is seeking a Software Configuration Management (SCM) Analyst to support the development, release, and sustainment of mission-critical software systems within a secure DoD environment. This individual will be responsible for software configuration management, release engineering, CI/CD implementation, release governance, and process automation efforts supporting complex software programs. The ideal candidate will have experience managing software baselines, release candidates, engineering builds, and production deployments while partnering closely with software development teams to ensure software quality, version control standards, and release processes are consistently followed. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Manage software configuration management and release engineering activities throughout the software development lifecycle. Review and approve software builds, release candidates, beta releases, and production deployments. Analyze software dependencies, version control structures, and build configurations to ensure deployment readiness. Maintain software baselines, change records, release documentation, and CM artifacts. Develop and improve automation processes supporting software builds, releases, and CI/CD pipelines. Support and validate build and deployment workflows utilizing Bitbucket, Jenkins, Jira, and Nexus. Partner with software developers to enforce GitFlow branching strategies and configuration management standards. Facilitate Configuration Control Board (CCB) activities, including meeting coordination, documentation, action tracking, and release approvals. Review software documentation and engineering artifacts for compliance with CM requirements and quality standards. Ensure software releases satisfy program requirements before deployment to operational environments. Support CI/CD best practices, automated testing integration, release governance processes, and code quality initiatives. Contribute to process improvement initiatives focused on increasing release reliability, automation, and deployment efficiency. Required Qualifications Active Secret Clearance. Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of Software Configuration Management, Configuration Management, Release Engineering, Build Engineering, DevOps, Software Quality, or related experience. Experience supporting software builds, release management, and software delivery processes. Experience working within Linux environments.

Hands-on experience with:

Bitbucket Jira Jenkins Nexus Understanding of GitFlow branching strategies and version control best practices. Experience reviewing software dependencies, build processes, and deployment pipelines. Experience supporting CI/CD environments and release automation efforts. Experience maintaining configuration baselines and coordinating software releases. Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with development teams and enforce release standards. Ability to identify deployment risks and understand software development workflows. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with GitFlow methodologies. Experience with ClearCase. Experience creating automation tools through scripting or programming. Experience supporting Docker/containerized environments. Experience working within Agile software development teams. Knowledge of automated testing, code coverage, software quality, and CI/CD best practices. Experience supporting or administering Configuration Control Boards (CCBs). Basic Qualifications Configuration Analyst (Level 2) Master's Degree and 0 years of related Configuration/Data Management experience; OR Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of related Configuration/Data Management (CDM) experience; OR Associate's Degree and 4 years of related CDM experience; OR 6 years of related CDM experience in lieu of a degree. Principal Configuration Analyst (Level 3) PhD and 1 year of related CDM experience; OR Master's Degree and 3 years of related CDM experience; OR Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of related CDM experience; OR Associate's Degree and 7 years of related CDM experience; OR 9 years of related CDM experience in lieu of a degree.
