JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision, develops, implements, monitors, and supports integrations between the College's enterprise applications, cloud services, databases, and external systems. Works with technology teams, College departments, and vendors to analyze integration requirements, maintain reliable data exchange, troubleshoot interface failures, and ensure that integrations meet operational, security, and data-quality standards.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, develop, configure, test, implement, and maintain integrations between enterprise applications, cloud services, databases, and third-party systems. Develop and support application programming interfaces, web services, middleware workflows, data transformations, automated file transfers, and extract-transform-load processes. Monitor scheduled integrations, interface queues, automated processes, and data transfers to ensure timely and successful completion. Investigate and resolve integration failures, data discrepancies, authentication issues, performance problems, and other interface-related incidents. Work with College departments, application owners, technical teams, and vendors to gather requirements and define data mappings, business rules, workflows, and expected outcomes. Validate integrated data for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with established business requirements. Develop test plans, conduct integration testing, coordinate user acceptance testing, and support production deployment and post-implementation validation. Maintain technical specifications, data mappings, process diagrams, configuration records, troubleshooting guides, and standard operating procedures. Apply appropriate security controls to integrations, including authentication, authorization, encryption, credential management, secure file transfer, and least-privilege access. Evaluate the effect of application upgrades, vendor changes, data-model changes, and new business requirements on existing integrations. Coordinate with vendors and technical support providers to resolve issues and implement new or modified integration capabilities. Develop scripts, queries, and automated processes that improve data exchange, monitoring, error handling, and operational efficiency. Follow established change-management, incident-management, software-development, testing, and documentation procedures. Participate in scheduled maintenance, system implementations, application upgrades, after-hours support, and the on-call rotation as assigned. Complete all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Development, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education, training, certifications, and progressively responsible professional experience. Minimum of three (3) years of experience developing or supporting application integrations, enterprise applications, data interfaces, software solutions, or related technologies preferred. Experience supporting integrations involving Ellucian Banner, ADP, or comparable enterprise resource planning, student information, human resources, or payroll systems is preferred. Working knowledge of REST and SOAP web services, application programming interfaces, JSON, XML, flat-file formats, and secure file-transfer methods. Experience with SQL, relational databases, data queries, data mapping, transformation, validation, and troubleshooting. Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, Java, C#, or comparable technologies. Familiarity with integration platforms, middleware, extract-transform-load (ETL) tools, cloud workflow services, or integration platform-as-a-service technologies. Working knowledge of authentication and authorization technologies such as OAuth, API keys, certificates, SAML, and service accounts. Familiarity with cloud applications, software-as-a-service platforms, enterprise resource planning systems, student information systems, and identity-management technologies. Understanding of software-development lifecycle, testing, version control, change management, incident management, and release-management practices. Ability to analyze complex technical issues, trace data through multiple systems, identify root causes, and implement reliable solutions. Understanding of data security, privacy, access control, FERPA, and other requirements applicable to institutional data. Strong analytical, organizational, documentation, time-management, and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical personnel, vendors, administrators, faculty, and staff. Relevant certifications in cloud platforms, integration technologies, database technologies, or enterprise applications are preferred. Employees must able to respond effectively during emergency situations and participate in on-call rotations and off-hours maintenance as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as sedentary work involving lifting no more than 25 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally, and other sedentary criteria are met.
