Job Description :
The employee must be productive under tight timeframes, balance multiple and competing priorities and maintain goal-directed behavior and performance sometimes under stressful conditions. The employee must interact courteously with others. The employee's performance and behavior must demonstrate consideration of the workload concerns of others and must not negatively affect productivity and morale of the unit. Attendance is an essential function of this position. This position is a moderately to highly independent and deals with complex technical work for the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR). The following is a list of duties: Operations Assists in writing and maintaining up-to-date technical documentation and operating procedures for supported offices, networks, hardware, software, and applications. Maintains current knowledge of the Division's hardware, software, policies, procedures, and standards. Follows the standard implementation of policies, procedures, best practices, and systems operations. Maintains IT inventory, ensures its accuracy, and follows the Division's surplus procedures. Work Assignments Performs computer imaging, configuration, and user setup. Delivers user onboarding IT training and any other relevant training as necessary. Installs computers, peripherals, and other hardware. Assists with individual office moves and entire office relocations. Provides on-site coverage for staff needs and tasks required to meet project deadlines. Assists with installing, evaluating, and/or testing, Microsoft 365 modules or Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) packages. Participates in meetings and special projects. Technical Assistance Handles incidents and service requests accurately and in a timely manner. Analyzes and assists to resolve network, hardware, and software/application problems. Completes tasks in a timely manner to ensure staff have the necessary access to the Division's IT resources. Supports network, hardware, and software/applications for the Division's offices located throughout the state. Incident/Service Request Management Monitors the Service Desk application and takes action on unassigned Incidents/Service Requests. Attempts to resolve the Incident/Service Request by completing accordingly, or escalates to the appropriate support group. Monitors daily and actively works Incidents/Service Requests assigned to you. Updates any open Incidents/Service Requests assigned to you on a daily basis to reflect the appropriate status and details of the actions taken. Places Incidents/Service Requests on hold, if necessary, with a justifiable noted reason. Resolves Incidents/Service Requests in a timely manner, including detailed actions taken for resolution. Performs other duties as required, assigned, or delegated.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
: Knowledge of laws, rules, policies and procedures relating to educational programs; and of techniques for planning, implementing or evaluating educational programs. Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures; to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments; to communicate effectively; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; and to deal effectively with a variety of people. Ability to bend, stoop, crawl, and lift technology equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.Background Screening Requirement:
It is the policy of the Florida Department of Education that applicants for employment undergo level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
