Job Description

Under the direction of the Experience Architect, the IT Intern supports the day-to-day operations of the Information Technology Department during the summer project season. This is a seasonal, part-time position that provides hands-on exposure to enterprise IT operations serving over 6,000 customers across 23 Town and School facilities. Service & Support Assists with service request intake by gathering preliminary information from end users and documenting issue details in the work order system, under the direction of a Technical Specialist, the Experience Architect, or the Experience Architect's designee. Triages walk-in and out-of-band service requests by collecting relevant information and escalating to the appropriate technical staff, under the direction of a Technical Specialist, the Experience Architect, or the Experience Architect's designee. Acquisition & Deployment Performs device imaging using established departmental procedures and tools, including OS deployment and standard software installation. Assists with device configuration to align hardware with designated use cases, roles, or deployment profiles, under the direction of a Technical Specialist. Supports the staging, tagging, and physical preparation of new equipment for deployment. Assists with the delivery and physical setup of end-user hardware across Town and School facilities. Asset & Inventory Management Assists with maintaining accurate records of IT assets, including data entry and physical inventory counts, under the direction of the Technical Resource Coordinator or the Experience Architect's designee. Supports the full lifecycle management of retired equipment, including organization, preparation for surplus, and e-waste processing. Facilities & Infrastructure Support Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of printers, projectors, network equipment, and other devices as directed. Assists with cable management, equipment organization, and general upkeep of technology spaces and network closets. Ability to follow detailed instructions and established procedures with accuracy and consistency. Ability to interact professionally and constructively with Town and School staff at all levels. Ability to perform moderate physical tasks including lifting, carrying, and transporting equipment such as computers and peripherals. Valid driver's license and personal vehicle required; travel between Town and School facilities is an expected part of this role. Seasonal, part-time position. Hours will vary based on departmental need and project schedules. Work is primarily performed across Town and School facilities in Andover; travel between locations is required.
